Bomb goes off at Olympics early this morning. I'm listening to talk radio as we speak. The host is saying that terrorism is becoming a big threat in this country. He says that we need to be safer. He wants the security that when he goes on an airplane that he will know that there is no bomb. He says that it would be worth it to him to have to arrive to the airport 6 hours before the flight so that they could search everyone who goes on the plane. Well, it happens that driving a car is more dangerous than riding on a plane. If safety is really so important, then we ought to be not allowed to drive over 20 miles per hour. That would make a much bigger difference in terms of safety than searching each person on a plane. Instead of maybe saving a few hundred lives per year, you could save many thousands of people.
