Surely everyone has heard about that cult called Heaven's Gate who killed themselves cuz they thought a UFO was going to pick them up and free them from their containers. Anyway, I just thought I'd put some of my reactions to that here.

When I first saw the Headline on CNN and I couldn't believe it. They seemed to be going down to the level of the National Enquirer, but they had the story right. These people actually believed there was a space ship behind the comet. But what is a UFO? It's an Unidentified Flying Object. There could not have been a UFO behind the comet. These cult people apparently identified it, so how could they call it a UFO. A UFO is an UNIDENTIFIED flying object. Therefore a bird is a UFO if you see it but you can't identify it as a bird. I don't know why the term UFO impies intelligent life from other planets.
