It's interesting how times change. One of my mom's Grandparents died when I was 5 years old. His mother died when he was 5 years old. 6 months later, his father remarried a 16 year old. This was normal in those days. This must have been around the turn of the century, about 100 years ago. When my mom's mom got married at age 20 in 1946, she may have felt that she was over the hill getting married at that age, as it was the norm to get married young. Today, anyone who gets married at such a young age is looked at kinda funny. People are expected to go to college and make a career for themselves before getting married. Most people seem to think this is a good thing, and maybe it is. Others would be just as happy if times were like they were just a few generations ago. Some women would not mind getting married in their late teens and being a housewife for the rest of their lives.

Nonetheless, it's interesting to observe how much times change in such a a short amount of time. What will things be like in 50 years? 100 years? 1000 years? If only I could somehow find out.
