Ok. Some people have been saying I haven't been putting enough digressions in here lately, so I got a couple for tonight.
Why do people complain so much about parking meters and parking tickets? If you don't feed the meter, you get a ticket. You don't want a ticket, you feed the meter. Parking meters are not evil. They are good. There are many places where everyone wants to park. Without parking meters, they will always be totally jammed and there will rarely be an empty space. Now, with parking meters, people will be less likely to park there, and more likely to either not drive, or simply park somewhere farther away. Those people who REALLY NEED to park there (maybe they have to carry something heavy or something), those people will have spaces waiting for them. Yeah, they'll have to put in a quarter, but big deal. The policy is a good thing. It is nice to the individual if you tell them that they are about to get ticketed and they better refeed the meter, but it has a bad effect overall. Tickets should be given to those who don't feed the meter, thus they will be less likely to park there in the future, leaving the spaces for those who really need them. Why can't most people understand this?
