People always say, "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out". This is implying that rocket scientists are like way smarter than everyone else. Well, yeah, rocket scientists are generally pretty smart, but why isn't the expression, "It doesn't take a computer programmer to figure that out" or something. Sometimes people use the rocket scientist expression to things that have nothing to do with rocket science. People might say that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out which roads to take to drive somewhere. Well, what's up with that? Just cuz someone is a rocket scientist doesn't mean they have any sense of direction.
