Valet parking. Valet. According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 1 a: a man's male servant who performs personal services (as taking care of clothing) b: an employee (as of a hotel or a public facility) who performs personal services for customers 2: a device (as a rack or tray) for holding clothing or personal effects.
Hmmm, so it seems that definition of valet is kinda less specific than just parking. Yet, I have never heard the word valet used for anything else. When you go to a restaurant and they seat you and take your coat for you, wouldn't that be valet seating or valet coating or something. Anyway, valet parking is more of an inconvenience than a service. I mean it's usually easier to park your own car, that is assuming there is a space for it.
